New Brand....Ragtales
We’re always on the look out for new brands to enhance those we currently stock so its always exciting when we discover one as gorgeous as ‘Ragtales’ that we think our lovely customers will adore as much as we do.
We first discovered Ragtales in February, tucked away on a small stand at one of Europe’s largest trade fairs which is held every year at the NEC in Birmingham. With very tired feet we were having a final wonder before running to catch our train (just in case we’d missed that something special!) when our attention was drawn to a display of the most beautiful soft toy sheep we had ever seen. As a toy shop located in the heart of rural Mid Wales any toy with an agricultural feel is always super popular anyway (plus everyone knows the Welsh are renowned for our love of sheep!) so when we found out these ones were called Dylan and Dylis we know instantly that we had to have them.
Ragtales is the brain child of two friends who in 2011 decided to create a collection of soft toys that evoked the rich visual heritage of British life. Every one of their characters draws inspiration from the quirky, whimsical stories that are part of our childhoods in the UK and when brought to life using a variety of luxurious textiles – the softest velours, the chunkiest knits and the prettiest florals, their beautiful characters all have truly unique personalities..
Although our favourites are obviously Dylan and Dylis the Ragtale collection of soft toys doesn’t end there - there are also rabbits, dogs, donkeys and unicorns to name but a few. Each character has their own unique name and is beautifully styled and dressed in clothes or accessories that complete their look.
So lets introduce you to a few of the Ragtale gang. There’s…….
Dylan the Sheep dressed in his traditional arran jumper and shorts.
Dylis the Sheep wrapped up warm against the cold in her wooly cape and knitted dress.
Oscar the Dog in his funky checked shorts and hand jumper.
Pandora the Unicorn with her pretty silver horn and fluffy pink mane and tail.
Poppy the Rabbit dressed in a super cute spotty dress.
Paddy the Hare looking super dapper in his knitted jumper.
Phyllis the Lamb dressed in her cute cape and dress.
Pedro the Donkey looking super cosy in his warm winter scarf.
Suitable from birth all the characters have delicately weighted bodies so are perfect to sit in a nursey or on a shelf. Available in two sizes they make a truly individual and special gift for a new born that will be cherished for generations.
